ABOUT ME
Welcome! I am Jessica Rose Barker, Ayurvedic postpartum doula, women’s wellness consultant and mother to two beautiful boys.
My Philosophy
Ayurveda teaches us that healing happens through warmth, rhythm, presence, and proper nourishment, especially during times of vulnerability and change. I believe women deserve to be cared for slowly, thoroughly and with reverence, rather than rushed through recovery.
Whether through bodywork, food or personalised guidance, my intention is always the same: to restore balance, rebuild strength and support the nervous system so women can feel held, confident and well in their bodies.
I offer traditional and postpartum Abhyanga treatments using warm, herbal oils from my home clinic, located amongst the tranquil treetops of Arthurs Seat on the Mornington Peninsula. These treatments are designed to nourish the nervous system, support circulation and recovery, and invite deep rest.
What I Offer
Alongside bodywork, I provide Ayurvedic health consultations for women, offering personalised guidance for digestion, energy, hormonal balance, emotional wellbeing, and life transitions, with a particular focus on pregnancy and postpartum care.
I also offer in-home postpartum support, combining Ayurvedic bodywork, practical baby care, nourishment, and professional guidance to support mothers during the early weeks after birth.
The Vida Kitchen
I am the co-owner and holistic chef behind The Vida Kitchen, a sister business offering fortnightly Ayurvedic meal delivery, including menus specifically designed for early postpartum recovery.
Food is central to my work. I see it as one of the most powerful tools for healing, grounding, and rebuilding vitality, especially during the postpartum period and beyond.
A Grounded, Personal Approach
My work bridges ancient tradition with modern understanding. I bring both professional training and lived experience into each session, offering care that is intuitive, evidence-informed and deeply human.
Whether you visit my clinic, invite me into your home postpartum, or work with me through consultation and nourishment, my aim is to create a space where you feel supported, respected, and gently guided back to yourself.
